Hello, my name is Robert Heemskerk. I am a Wealth Manager at BNP Paribas Wealth Management in the Netherlands. 

I would like to tell you a story which illustrates how BNP Paribas Wealth Management’s clients benefit from the “One Bank” approach and the Group’s financial solidity.

First, a little background about BNP Paribas in the Dutch market.

The BNP Paribas Group has had a deep/rooted presence in the Netherlands for more than two centuries. However, before twenty twenty-one, the Group had no Wealth Management service directly in the country.

In view of our presence among corporates and regular contact with large entrepreneurs at the local level, we decided to set up a new team in Amsterdam to cater to key and strategic clients.  Today, we continue to grow this activity.

 An important pillar of our strategy is that we work closely with the Group’s other business lines, to allow our clients to benefit from the “One Bank” approach. 

Now I will begin my story of a strategic client, whom I will call Mr Arnold for anonymity reasons. 

Mr Arnold was looking for a well-capitalized international bank to protect and grow his wealth. He knew the good reputation of the BNP Paribas Group, its robustness, and its unique integrated and diversified model. As a reminder, BNP Paribas had more than four hundred and thirty nine billion euros1 in available liquidity on the thirtieth of September, two thousand and twenty three. 

Mr Arnold had very sophisticated needs in managing his assets and significant financing requirements, and he was looking to invest tens of millions of euros in tailor-made solutions. 

It was very important for Mr Arnold to build a close, long-term relationship based on trust with a large financial institution that was well established in the Dutch market.

In view of Mr Arnold’s sophisticated needs, I mobilised, on his behalf, the various expertise within the bank, including a credit specialist.  

After several face-to-face meetings, presenting our expertise and demonstrating our capacity to offer relevant solutions, tailored to his personal and business needs, Mr Arnold made a strategic choice to bank with BNP Paribas Wealth Management for his personal wealth.

In addition, the bank granted him a credit line, with some of his assets with the bank serving as collateral. 

This was just the beginning of our business relationship. The client has since asked us to develop the relationship beyond Wealth Management, according to the “One Bank” approach.

We are now working with Corporate Institutional Banking to finance real estate projects for him in the Netherlands and beyond. What’s more, Mr Arnold has accessed investments that are usually reserved for institutional investors, including Capital Markets Solutions and Private Investments.

In conclusion, the Group’s “One Bank” model and ability to deliver timely, tailor-made solutions were the cornerstones of this success story. 

Furthermore, the BNP Paribas Group’s financial strength and liquidity ratio are essential for strategic clients seeking large investments and financing solutions over the long term.
