My name is Aline Ritt,

I'm in charge of the Private Assets team within BNP Paribas Wealth Management.

I'm speaking to you today to illustrate how BNP Paribas strong Private Equity expertise can make a difference to help our clients to diversify their investments.

I'd like to tell you a story that happened recently that illustrates our solution-driven approach.

The French Private Banking team covering family companies invited a few experts, including our Private Equity team, to pitch a client.

This client was a family that had just sold a minority stake in their €100 million business to financial investors.

Following this transaction, the family needed to reinvest a part of their cash out.

We took the opportunity to present our activity.

They were familiar with the private equity asset class, and they were really interested to know more about our flagship wealth management offering in top performing private assets funds.

They were also interested in understanding why they should invest during hectic periods.

Firstly, we have explained the BNP Paribas capacity to select and access a diversified range of funds, having an undisputed track record over all cycles.

We have also discussed the fact that Private Equity is highly suited to lower cycle and complex periods of volatility.

Why?

Because it has a long-term horizon. 8 to 10 years.

Allowing fund managers to (i) implement the management team’s project without short-term constraints, (ii) to navigate the cycle by seizing opportunities during market slowdowns and selling during market recoveries.

This is just the beginning of the story and the competition is still tough to win the clients.

But we have clearly scored points by demonstrating BNP Paribas Wealth Management leadership and solution-driven approach
